  • Bride Kidnapping in Kyrgyzstan

In rural Kyrgyzstan men still marry their women the old-fashioned way: by abducting them off the street and forcing them to be their wife. Bride kidnapping is a supposedly ancient custom that's made a major comeback since the fall of Communism and now accounts for nearly half of all marriages in some parts. We traveled to the Kyrgyz countryside to follow/aid and abet a young groom named Kubanti as he surprised his teenage girlfriend Nazgul with the gift of marriage/kidnapping. Sex tourism is an industry worth billions of Euros with millions of sex workers around the world. Every year, about three million people travel on sex tourism trips. These figures are on a rapid rise. Prostitution is not legal in all of the following countries; nonetheless the ‘world’s oldest profession’ is still widely practiced in them. Here are the 10 biggest sex tourism destinations. 7. Kenya Kenya is one of the most relatively stable and safe countries in Africa. It has one of the largest tourism industries on the continent and that includes sex tourism. The Kenyan Tourism Board doesn’t discourage it in practice despite the high levels of STI’s and HIV in the country. Kenya is a popular destination among older white women, from mainly the USA and UK, who want to purchase a ‘holiday romance’ with a local man. 6. The Netherlands The Netherlands, due mainly to the famous sin city of Amsterdam, is one of the world’s sex tourism capitals. Prostitution is legal and regulated, this includes brothels. Amsterdam’s, De Wallen, is the largest and most famous red-light district in the city and a famous destination for international sex tourism. 5. The Philippines Amazingly, prostitution is illegal in the country and technically it can come with harsh penalties. Nonetheless, the industry is massive in the country and not really frowned upon. Female company usually comes in the form of ‘bargirls’ who often wear ‘bargirl’ ID tags. These girls are supposed to come with a guarantee of being regularly tested for STDs. Amazingly, it is estimated that 60% of tourists that visit the country, come only for sex tourism. 4. Spain The sex trade exists in a legal loophole in Spain and has been on the rise in recent years, combining effectively with the country’s massive tourism industry. Ninety per cent of prostitutes in Spain are illegal immigrants, many of which arrive in Spain through illegal human trafficking. 3. Colombia Colombian women are undoubtedly among the most beautiful in the world, this certainly is one of the factors that has aided its reputation as a global sex tourism capital. While the sex trade is completely legal and accepted in the country, the Government of Colombia is making efforts to fight child prostitution, sexual slavery and human trafficking. 2. Brazil Brazil is a country with an extremely supportive outlook on legal prostitution. They also launched an ‘I’m a happy prostitution’ campaign to promote a more positive outlook on the industry. Brazil looks set to become the number one sex tourism destination in the world in the next few years, despite that fact that brothels are still illegal. 1. Thailand Thailand takes the number one spot even though prostitution is not strictly legal there. However, in reality it is partly regulated and tolerated and a vital part of the country’s tourism industry. The industry really started in the country during the Vietnam War and hasn’t slowed since. There are over three million sex workers in the country. Sadly, a third of this massive figure is believed to be minors.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdutX2lN8fY Fethullah Gulen-https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fethullah_G%C3%BClen Tajik President Emomali Rahmon was said to have authorised Tajik Ministry of Education to confiscate US-based preacher Fethullah Gulen’s seven schools around the country, according to Tajikistan's national news agency NIAT Hovar. The Tajik agency said Rahmon had signed the order that authorises the Ministry of Education to take over seven Gulen schools run by the Selale Educational Institution by converting them into public schools under the name of "schools for gifted children." Turkish government has been accusing Gulen and his community-like network of comprising a “parallel state” in Turkish bureaucracy and the country's top institutions, including judiciary, police force, the army and universities through which they were allegedly trying to undermine the power of Turkish state. Gulen and his followers are known for their gradual organisation in Turkey’s education system by spreading their school networks for years in order to exert dominance over Turkish state institutions. The group has been also operating outside of Turkey by increasing their school numbers in more than hundred countries from Asia to Africa and the Americas. Turkish government has given up its informal support and promotion of those so-called Turkish schools affiliated with the Gulen group when the group had attempted to use its influence for a failed judicial coup to allegedly overtake the Turkish government on Dec. 17-25, 2013. Since then the Turkish government and foremost President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have been urging the countries which have the schools run-by Gulen group to shut down or convert them into public schools of their-own. The Tajik leadership was said to have also been investigating such allegations on the Gulen-affiliated schools since the early 2015 as Turkish authorities requested Tajikistan to keep a close watch over educational activities of those institutions. Thus, Tajik education officials were reportedly to have taken the decision to shut down Gulen schools in May, the Tajik agency claimed. The agency references to Tajikistan’s Minister of Education and Science Nuriddin Said, by stating the ministry's preparation to take over the schools as Said pledged on May 21 to shut down those institutions after all necessary legal documents are completed. Head of the ministry’s Early Childhood and Primary Education Department, Abdujabbor Aliyev also confirmed the minister and said the schools would be forced to change their education patterns and curriculum in the coming academic year. “The founder of these schools, the Selale Educational Institutions, will also lose its status,” Aliyev added. The Gulen schools were started to be opened in the Turkic republics of Central Asia by the early 1990s when the former Soviet Union fell apart as a result of the fall of communism. Tajikistan is not classified as one of Central Asia’s Turkic republics - which include Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan - since the overwhelming majority of the country’s population speak the Tajik dialect of Persian language. The first Gulen school in Tajikistan was opened in 1992 So far, many countries have either closed Gulen-affiliated schools or started to investigate the allegations regarding educational activities and operations of those institutions in their soils. Ankara mulls over to get devolving of Gulen schools all around the world under the Turkish Ministry of Education unless some countries reject to shut down those institutions. http://www.financialexpress.com/india-news/pm-narendra-modi-and-tajikistan-president-emomali-rahmon-meet-pm-says-appreciate-tajikistans-role-against-forces-of-terrorism/477245/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emomali_Rahmon
